Hi All, I have a web design ct website that I would like reviewed. Please be as honest as possible in your review. Actually, be as brutal as you can. Is the design appealing? How is the CSS? Any errors? Etc.
Ok you said to be honest - Not a fan of the pixelated look. This was once a popular style, but those days are long gone. - Not a fan of flash headers as well, but at least you don't repeat it on subpages. Even better would be to use a cookie so that it's only shown once, even if I return to the homepage. - Website is too small for this day & age. - Almost everything you put in the sidebar on all pages is useless and wastes space. - Too many links, yes you're an SEO but don't overdo it. I'm talking about all the footer links, makes your site look unprofessional. - Portfolio pagination links should be changed. - A flash captcha? That's a first I hate captchas on contact forms, you should just remove it. Why do I need to give my entire address in the contact form? OK, it's not required but the fields are there and it makes it look like hard work just to contact you.
Hi premiumscripts, Thanks for your honest review. Not sure what you mean by "pixelated look". Do you mean that effect at the top of each page, above the navigation? We added the flash captcha since we were getting dozens of automated spam entries per day. Most sites have a captcha form now since they are getting heavily abused. Not sure how to get around that one. Thanks for the rest of your comments. We will take them into consideration.
By pixelated look I mean the navbar & the "visit site" / "read more" buttons. As far as the captcha, yeah, that's fine on other types of forms (comment form, etc) but I don't like it on this type of form. You should use some other tactics, rename the contact form, etc, add a javascript validation check and so on. Anyway, it wasn't high on my list, just something you should think about.
