Hi, Please review http://www.programs.ro, my new shareware/freeware download website(still under construction). I am whaiting comments about design, adsense placement, structure, seo...or anything else crosses your mind. Best regards, Adrian
Looks good to me. The content starts a bit low on the page, after the header and the google ads, but it is not too bad. Did you write the reviews yourself?
Unfortunaly I am not very good in writing so the reviews are not writed by me. Usualy it's from the software publisher website. QUOTE=Dejavu]Looks good to me. Wow really good. By the way can you tell me which script do you use for the backend. I have seen this kind of site at some place else also. can't mention the name here. i don't kow if they allow posting url's in the topic's or not. Overall your site is good. don't do something bad that can ruin it. It will surely work.
I don't use a CMS. I haven't found one that worked for me and I don't really know Php or MySql well so the website is hand coded. I hope It will work, till now I have around 60 visitators / day but they view less than 200 pages so I have a low AdSense CTR, also the ads are well optimised in my opinion. I hope it will get a lot better afther everything is finished.
Don't joke. Because you can't code each and every page in dreamweaver or somethig else for every submission you recieve. I also owned a site like this before 2 years. I knwo how much headache it can create.
If your site is coded in PHP try the ASP site. They have code available that will add the ability to let authors submit their programs to your site.
You don't have to code a page for each submission, thats what a MYSQL database is for. Setup one listing page that pulls data from a table for each submission that in conjunction with the automated PAD file submission code I linked to above will make the process completely automated unless you would like to review each submission first which is what I do on my Shareware sites. This adds a bit more coding but prevents SPAM and duplicate submissions.
Thank you for your advices. I have looked at PAD a while ago, but I doesn't seems to be SEO friendly. Anyway, I will try to learn more about MYSQL & PHP on order try to implement PAD to my website. For the moment I don't know haw to integrate Pad into my current website design & haw can I generate SEO friendly pages.
PAD can be very SEO friendly if the shareware authors spend enough time when generating the PAD files. It contains all the information you need to generate SEO friendly pages including keywords and content comprising of the program description and information you can use for the Page Title and Description Meta Tags and if the author doesn't put the required information to make it friendly, just don't accept the submission. Feel free to checkout the program listing pages for the download site in my signature, all content is pulled directly from a PAD file and many of the program listing pages have ranked very high in the SERPS including at times higher than the program authors site for the targeted keywords.
The pages are generated by the PAD SDK or another software? Have you used any mod rewrite to make urls seo fiendly(without php?) I really like you site http://www.canistotasoftware.com. Is it entirely driven by PAD SDK ? Thank you again for the help you provide.
