I'm not a big fan of click-to-enter home page. "Posted by ..." comments are bleeding into the background. Can't click on anything - getting "restricted access". What's the point of asking people to review your website if it's restricted? J.D.
Yeah, from google's webmaster guidelines http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/guidelines.html Quality Guidelines - Specific recommendations: <snip> * Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content. </snip>
i like it. would prefer some kind of colour change on link mouseover, as i dont like static links... but thats just me, apart from that its pretty smart...and i like your entry page... although it should say...click to enter? so i dont just stare at it for 30 secs waiting for it to redirect me
the basic layout looks good, but your dates are not lining up in their containers, at least in Firefox. I like the site, but the grey background is too dull for the content. Have you considered a very light patterned background with possibly a gradient? I think it would work well. Good luck
I agree with SM about the mouseover it should have a colour change or a underline, but for the most part it looks really good.
OK, for your ref I'm using FF 1.0.2, 32m colors 1600x1200 on a 19" Agree on the "click to enter" homepage - a vague alt attribute (bbwta) and no title atrib. If you're gonna keep that page, at least have some "click here" instructions. Maybe add something to that front page that shows what you do and what you're about - even just acool photo of a BB would help I'm tiling windows vertical on a 1600 screen (DP left, BBWA right) and it's not been optimised for 800px width (don't forget scrollbars narrow that too) That could still be around 25-50% of potential audience Agree that mouseovers are good for usability - you could use CSS your links rather than images and in different classes if needs be for different areas of the page - maybe the visibility on the wave bg on the left menu could be dropped by 25-50% to give the text a chance to stand out Comic sans? Not my favourite font A lot of images are missing title attributes - as a FireFox user, this does the same as alt attribs in IE - using both does no harm and aids users from an accessibility point of view. Actually a lot of your alt attributes are empty... "Posted by" bleeds over edges of containers making it difficult to read... Some more photos to pep up the posts would be a nice touch - even something from photos.com would do. Yeah, it's alright. I do like the header and the hand-drawn script (not the comic-sans OK?) Keep at it and looking forward to seeing how it comes along
Thanks I'm thinking about partnering up with this site and wanted to see its potential and what needs to be changed
links on the left side are not really visible...blue background with light black text. If text is bold it would be easier to read...
