Well I don"t claim to be an expert webmaster. I have had no formal training or qualifications, so please take that into account when checking this site out. It has been up and running for about 4 months and has a little over 2000 members and is now growing fast. I built the site by myself with help on the PHP only. The graphics, concept and Riddles are all mine. I came up with this concept about 4 years ago but have only fount the time to put it together in the last month. Please let me know what you think. An excellent opportunity for anyone looking for targeted traffic also. http://www.twuth.com
I chose that font because the script writing is part of the theme of the site (treasure hunt games). That falls in line with the quill lying on the page. Please keep in mind that this is only the entry page. I feel that the graphics are a crucial part of the sites overall theme. Did you go past the first page?
Hello RavenCat. Just had a look at your site tonight. My Thoughts Logo Simple but it doesn't flow with the font and colors of other pages of your site. What is Twuth page I went to look at this page. Things seem fined until I tried to click on the 'Back to Members Page'. When I clicked on it; it brought me to the members 'Login Page'. Members Login Page As shown above, the members login page colors are not consistent with the site template. Registration Page Same as Members Login Page All other Pages All other pages go to the login page which is confusing. Conclusion The home page is nice and the 'what is twuth' pages are nice but confusing after that. In my opinion, it doesn't seem to be a valid contest site by design and navigation. Mainly because it has a focus of constantly wanting users to register to the site. This is only my opinion. This review was done on 3 web browsers (FireFox 2.0.0.9, Internet Explorer 6.02 & Opera 9.24) on Windows XP SP2. I do hope this was helpful. Respects, Lhlalyam
Sorry all the links go to the members page for which have to be registered and logged on to use. The reason for this is because the Riddle games that members play are Database driven and require each player to be logged on to access their game data. This was the most secure method we could find to run the games. As for the graphics on the registration page and login, I will be changing tomorrow. Thanks
The concept seems nice, and great to hear that you have over 2k members. What you can do to improve the look of the site is to change the font to something old fashioned ( so it fits with the scroll ) maybe something in italics with a decent color ( so it probably looks like carvings on the wood ). You need to explain a bit more why a user should register, is it correct that the winner gets 100,000? i didnt get the fact about the charity, if all the proceeds are going towards charity, suggest you highlight that fact. Good to see that you haven't put annoying ads on your site which is good. keep it that way.
Alot of the same remarks - cleaner fonts and layout, especially the login page... Also - I would make "What is Twuth" at the top of the page (maybe as a button) in order to make it easier for users to figure out whats going on. Your links should be underlined (thats what the research says for conversion rates) or at least highlight on mouseover. Good luck - a great idea
Great idea and In the main looking good. In time I'm sure you'll get to deal with the few gremlins. All the best with it.
