Hi, I've recently made this site for a friend and would like comments/feedback on it. I'm particularly interested in ways I may improve it or any bugs, errors, broken links or security vulnerabilities and suggestions to fix them. It's all pretty much basic html (I'm not a web designer) I'd also appreciate suggestions on how to get more backlinks, especially relevant ones. (I've mailed/spoken to a lot of the owners of similar sites and asked for links but got very few responses.) TIA Laz Link: http://www.funfair-rides.com
very nice site! adsense placed well.. I like the menu bar on top, very interesting! I guess the main reason is to sell your attractions to people that hire them? if that's it; it would be interesting to have a page with more info & prices etc... or at least an estimate with more details cheers
Your url did not work for me so I cannot give you any feedback that is directly related to the design or content of the site. But I can give you some advice on getting relevant links. Relevant links are very difficult to obtain I would not recommend contacting other web masters to ask them to trade links because google prefers one way links and many web masters do not trade links. You should focus on the content of your site, if you provide great content people will link to it. You can build backlinks and improve your organic traffic through article submission. Once you start improving your placement in the serp you will start receiving more traffic and if your content is great people will link to it. This is the best way I know how to obtain relevant links.
This site is easy to look at. It's structured well. As a designer, I tend to feel like the graphics suffer a bit.
Thanks for the comments guys @BuxP - my friend doesn't want pricing options on the site as there are other things besides the hire of the actual rides to consider. For example, fuel for vehicles to transport the rides to the location of the events or to run the generators that power them. There is also things like Health & Safety or sanitation considerations; occasionally events require permissions from local authorities and that could also involve costs. Then there is the cost of staff wages the more staff needed, the higher the price? Will the rides be free for the visitors to the event or at a fixed rate? If there is a charge to ride will the hirer keep all of the money taken or will there be percentages for the owners of the various attractions, etc. Each event would be different so it would be impossible to say how much it may cost until these things are considered. @kingofsanda - I don't know why the url didn't work for you? However, I am doing various link building techniques, articles are something I plan to write more as a 'report' on the various private events they attend as and when they happen. @CharlesHurst - By saying you feel the graphics tend to suffer a bit, in what way do you mean? @braveheartcheng - I think it's slow to load too, I think that's probably because the images that make up the template are virtually all .jpg files. I have wondered if changing them to .gif's would make a difference to the speed. What do you think?
