Hi, Please review this alternate social site https://DesiCheers.com/ I am looking for feedback on design, logo image, functionality etc. Also if you have the time, then please join. Posts are public display posts, allowing signature, so you can get some SEO friendly back links as well. Thanks
To be very frank while having first look of your website, size of images of emoji is very big and footer is also having lots of white space beneath it and links like Back To Top & Use Dark Theme should be center aligned.
Good start but there are lots of things to be changes or updates. To be very frank as a user I don't like the color scheme (overall color scheme of the website) of the website as there is lots of contrast between the colors. On the header part when we hover a mouse on any anchor text the contrast is too much on the highlighted text. In one word, the user-interface needs modifications. I didn't check all the functionality of the website. Menu bar text is too small that can cause the mobile user to bounce back. Emoji size is too big, the text is not understandable, posts very hard to find, it seems like the homepage is full of comments on a post.
@Sumit_Singh Those are not comments on homepage, they are the posts. I will do something about the color scheme. Thanks @dabbu347 Thanks for the input. I will do those changes. You are talking about emoji in the "reactions" section, right?
@JEET Please look at attached screenshots. (1) Emoji are still bigger in size (2) your RHS side bar's width is also much wider than normal size. (3) When you hover mouse-over side bar links the color is very much dark as a result hyperlinks are getting visibly blocked. Thanks for considerations
ok, I think I fixed the emoji size problem, and the contrast color problem, and font size too small in menu bar problem. Many thanks for helping! I kept side bar wide on purpose because once you start using the site then a lot of wide content will be displayed in that section.
I didn't like how it looked on desktop so viewed on mobile instead and the background looks better but there are other layout problems. Design doesn't appear to be a strength so I'd focus on functionality and hire someone to do your design for you. Things like #page being 98% of the width but not centred #banner and #banner2 being inside page when they should be 100% #main has a white border but would benefit from being a smidgen darker than the dark gray What is "Search Quiz" about?
@sarahk Thanks for input. I will change colors as you mentioned. I have added a border around "main" content area, gray one. Everything is inside a "page" div, width 98%, and the div itself to be centered using css "margin: 1% auto 1% auto;" I am not sure why that is not working... Only other option to guarantee centering is <center> tag, which I don't want to use... Had always worked though... The "quiz" is a separate functionality. People can add quiz in the website, with multiple choice correct answers. Other users can take these quiz and post answers. Like a general knowledge quiz test. "Search Quiz" looks for active quiz that might be available for site members to participate in.
Did a complete theme change. And changed the logo also. I hope this looks better now. https://desiCheers.com/
Frankly, you need to work more on its placement and basic UI. Also, the logo should be clear, crisp; right now it looks more pixelated.
@ThemeMarvel What changes can be done to improve UI? Logo is a problem, I understand that. I'll need to hire someone to fix that.
Here is my view - In fist look I am not getting the purpose of this site - Right side navigation is not looks good - (Sorry if you feel bad from my review)
