Hey everyone.. I just launched http://www.ThePeoplePedia.com. It is a site that works exactly like Wikipedia, but it is only people. Any person can be on it.. not just famous people like wikipedia restricts you to. Feel free to add yourself or your friends to the site and tell me what you think. Thanks!
If I were to look for an investor, how do you guys think the money should be split? For example, what percent should go to marketing, what percent to development, staffing, etc.? Thanks for the reviews!
I personally think you would have to come up with a more unique design and setup I believe that is media wiki? I mean it is hard to get investors and such on non-unique code Just a thought nice idea though!
This probably isn't going to work out. You need an incentive at least on the page that tells us why we should add ourselves. Is there any specific reason? If you don't know of any then the site will fail. Also, you should make available a list of people that have been added (show them on the homepage) so that the site doesn't look empty.
Generally, it's a good site, and a good idea. The fonts are fine and appropriate. But you should provide the user with more tools, for example you should create some specific categories. One possible category is to display the members for a specific country. Shlomo
