I'd like some feedback on my website www.bucich.net
I'm self taught in HTML so I don't have the fundamental programming background most of you have. I'm sure it's a bit clumsy.

What I would like to accomplish is to make it load faster if necessary and have a cleaner look. Keep in mind I don't want to make dramatic changes since I am at the top of Google right now for just about every relevant keyword :D. But that's the point really, since I am at the top and receiving a fair amount of traffic, I feel more compelled to make it look sharp.

I think the navigation could be spiffed up some but all I know is graphics.
I'm relatively clueless on javascript although I have some, and I'm a newbie with CSS.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

Overall I would say the website looks pretty good. I didn't have any problems with load times etc.

For someone with self taught HTML thats is excellent. Many business websites don't even look half as good.

The one think I would suggest is try darking up the link text color. That light olive green tends to get lost against the white background.

    Cheers

It's better not to use images in simple menus - it takes some time to download them, requires JS for highlighting and requires more maintenance to produce regular, highlighted and, sometimes, clicked on images.

The layout looks a bit busy to me - too much text, too little structure. First few seconds I wasn't sure where to look first.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree on the busy part. I intentionally tried to load it up with keywords for SEO...and it worked. Still a work in progress however.

I use Dreamweaver for editing. But I have found that if I adjust the fonts too much on a single page while trying to play with the look and feel, that contradicting/overlapping code gets left behind. So I have had to get pretty good at editing my code by hand to clean it up.

    Thanks again!

I agree it does look good for a newbie. However, for a realtor site, it's very busy, too much text.

As for being a newb, so am I, and my site is living proof.

Nice website, good job. But yes it has abit Too much text. Maybe you could add some pictures for those  who have short attention span.

    other than that - great.

See there's the catch...it's all that text which is placing me at the top of the search engines. I am making changes to make it more organized and neat however.

And a little plug for my alma matre...beat Texas Tech!

The photos are too big. The bottom two are bigger then my pc 17' screen. Having to scrol up and down to see parts of a picture can get annoying.
