Hello everyone, I am interested in reviews for our ecommerce web design website. It's not brand new but we have made some changes to it. We have switch it to WordPress. I am curious if you think we should customize better the WP or to continue as it is now.
As a development firm, you need to make your portfolio stand out, so that should be the most important part of your site....and from a purely business point of view, I would suggest to move all the hosting services under one menu system because right now, I think it clutters the right column. To me, I think hosting is a secondary service for your clients and primary is development because that is where the real money is made, especially with maintenance. You need an order now button on the homepage...The homepage should have not so much writing. People are impulse buyers and if they are those that read the fine print, they'll go further into the site to find it. You don't want to get people to think before they buy. well, this is how the industry works anyway. sell sell sell. Worry about crap later.
If someone's looking for web designers, the first thing they'll want to see when they land on your page are probably some example designs. At the moment the focus is on Boss Cart, I had to scroll down to see mention of a portfolio.
Looks pretty good. Clean. Crisp and to the point. However, I do agree that you need to have your portfolio pop and catch the reader's eye. That's about all i've got!
