    Hi,

The website http://www.soundmachinesdirect.com has been up for several years. We have a large bounce rate and are looking for some tips and suggestions as to what may be wrong with this site causing the bounce rate to be high..

Also on the bottom of the page we were told to add some page content with internal keyword links. Is this content we should get rid of? Is this hurting us?

And were also told by another to get rid of the content on the bottom of the page and make better use of the blog.

I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions.

    Thank you very much,

    Mike

    Hmmmmm,
ok, The design itself is VERY dated (although I really like your header graphic)... You need to update that...

Using keyword text is fine, but there's a lot there... You want an INTRO on the front page (and it usually goes before the featured products, not after. From the intro you can link to a page with the full text... having it on EVERY page is definitely a mistake.

The images of your products are low quality and some of them are water-marked... are you really worried people are going to steal your product images?

Your forum loads very slowly... otherwise this has some potential... You have your logo beneath the login form - get rid of it there, it's already in the header

The blog - great! like the forum it's got lots of potential... you need to put excerpts on your front page (10 most recent forum posts / exerpt from our latest blog post)

Bottom line? I would bounce off this page if I was looking for your product... It needs a visual overhaul... LOOK at this page as though you were the buyer, don't try to out-think the search engines... what do you think of the huge piece of text at the bottom of your page? Build websites for people, not search engines ;)

Thanks Starme, for your review. I needed to hear these things! For example on the intro on the front page, how long should this be and how many keyword links is normal for the intro?

    Thank you,

I think they are right about the content at the bottom. Maybe if you put it in a narrow strip on the right side it would look more natural.

Your site is good but add some more mild colors for the layout, looks more attractive.
