In your CSS maybe you can change the colour of vistited links. Also the design is very clean and simple. In your Meta-tages you might want to expand on them.

 

its just a bit too bland for me, adding a bit of colour would be nice.

The blue in the links and the dark blue in the main colour theme are not that good together. Maybe change the lighter blue to an orange? would make the theme more lively. And red, even on mouse hover doesn't go well with the blue. I would also try something in the header .. an image or something to make it more "happy". the layout is very elegant, but a bit too sad

 

Ok, I changed the "dark blue" hyperlinks links to the standard hyperlink blue. Does that help?

 

Personally, I don't like how standard it looks either. However, I do like the use of the dark grey as the text colour. It makes it original and yet still easy to read.
