Coloring Pages 4 U (http://www.coloringpages4u.com) is a free online coloring book site. The site is broken down into a number of coloring books (Easter, Christmas, Bible, Cars, Fairies, etc), each having it's own theme (title, colors, background). Originally I had each in it's own subdomain (like http://christmas.coloringpages4u.com/), but was told that it's better for SEO to have them as subdirectories (like http://www.coloringpages4u.com/christmas/). There's a "Post to Facebook" feature, and I'm working on setting up a "Post to Gallery" too. A major aim was to give plenty of space for the coloring book. I'd really appreciate any feedack on... The site in general - layout, appearance, etc. The search functionality. The different sub-sites (themes). Ways to promote the site. Ways to acquire incoming links. Thanks!
Nice, I like the concept.. However, it would be much better to give the option to color freeform instead of guiding the colors in the clicked area (more realistic).
I like the site. I just have one comment, you are probably already aware of this, but it would be nice to have a little more space for the coloring page so that you don't have to use the scroll bars to see all the tools or color the whole picture.
Hmmm, there should be plenty of space, unless you are on a really small (low resolution) screen. I would say my screen is pretty average, and I had to shrink my browser window to about half the screen before scroll bars appeared. There are some configuration options that I could use to make the interface smaller, I might see if there's some way I can detect the available space and then apply a different config if it's small. Thanks for the feedback.
I like the idea and whole website very much! Really like there is a number of books and each subdomain have special design and content. Search is also operating properly. It is good work!
I REALLY LIKE YOUR SITE AND YOUR UNIQUE CONCEPT. This is the first time i've seen this kind of site. I will like it on facebook and promote it to my friends. You should atleast put some articles or you tube videos to add some features to the site aside from coloring.
I also started a site which is a coloring book site as well, but it is not an online one like yours. The site is more geared towards at home moms and home schoolers by enabling them to locate pages easily and provide a good selection under each category. This site is at Coloring Pages for Kids (http://coloringpages4kids.net) . It is at this point a work in progress with a lot of things to be done, but I was wondering if you can give any helpful hints on increasing its page rank. I noticed your site increase to PR3 in 8 months. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated? Kind regards!
I like the concept and I think kids will really enjoy it. Get the SEO work done and you'll be good to go!
@sydneykwan: Some suggestions... Have some coloring page thumbnails (perhaps random) appear on the HOME page. At the moment it's a bit bland and requires a few clicks to get to the first coloring page. Make printing EASIER. Although parents will visit and print off pages for their kids, you should make it easy enough that a young child can print for themselves. There are a few different options, but perhaps the best solution is embed each picture into a PDF. That way they can save it for later or print it off, and it's nicely laid out on the page. I'm currently running a free coloring contest. It's proving very popular, and is no doubt a big part of the traffic and interest that the site is receiving. I definitely need to put more effort into the SEO side of things. I'm just not sure where to start. Everyone says "get links" but that is proving harder than I would have thought. People seem to have become more and more reluctant to give a link, unless you are willing to pay.
Thank you. I appreciate and concur with your suggestions - things are a little bit bland at this point. My next iteration will have some thumbnails as well as better artwork, but at this point, I am working on adding more categories and pages to make it a more robust collection. BTW, how did you get a PR 3 so fast? Thank you again.
