Hello all, I have started my new blog here www.webbysite.co.uk/community/, However there is a slightly different concept on the blog. Users can signup and create their own social profile, they can then post guest blogs on the site that will link to their profile. If the user has entered their Google + profile information then their profile will be linked to their google + profile using the rel="author" tag giving them authorship markup on their guest blog. A simple concept but will allow them to build up authority on the posts they do to improve their authority for a selected industry. What do you think of the concept? Feel free to sign up and try it out. Looking forward to your responses. Thanks Kieran
I think it's a really great concept. I've seen this work on business2community.com. The only challenge is making sure no crap is published, which I'm sure you'll do a great job of managing, since blogging CMSs make it easy to queue up posts. We're planning a blog redesign too, and maybe you could give us some feedback. This is our concept so far: We were thinking of splitting the site into 7 sections related to every day life like entertainment or politics, all with social media spin. I have 2 questions: What sections would you be interested in reading, and should the content be local or national? Would you even have room for another blog in your life? Do you think 7 sections is too much? Should we be more focused? What traffic level and average time on site and pageviews would be appropriate to start pitching advertisers and agencies? Would it be interesting if all articles had a video of the writer explaining the story? Thanks in advance! I'll include an email sign up link if people are really interested
Thanks for your responses people please let me know if there is anything that you would want to change or any advice you have.
