Please review my website.

I just started this as a little project for friends and i to do something a little fun and to be able to brag about how well we know college sports and in the mix a little monetary compensation is involved as well. I was wondering what else I can add to the site in order to make it more user friendly and easy to understand its concept and how to go about using the website.

The php may still be a little buggy, but i'm still looking for users to help me test it out... I have a few, but so far nothing major, so everything seems to be working fine for now. If interested in joing shoot me a PM and i'll add you to the list of bet@ users.

 

That's an excellent website concept. You could probably get huge pots using the power of the Internet with that site!

You probably don't need the FAQ & CONTACT icons twice on the same page. That is redundant.

I can't active my account right now because I'm at work, but inside the member's area do you offer different payment methods to add to the pot? Do you have links to all of the sport websites so people can keep up to date on the scores?

You could probably add a score ticker like with the stock exchange. A little ticker on the home page would be sweet!

Right now it is in bet@ stages and the menu is pretty primitive....but those are EXCELLENT ideas. I really like them and will try to incorporate them soon.

working in FF 1.5 and the footer seems te be kinda out of place (the purple bottom bit) its either aligned left or covering text

The icons look a little blurry. Other than that it look good.

You should add more things such as sports news headlines to make it look more professional.

 

Hi,

On Firefox 1.0.4 on Linux the footer image (footer.jpg) is always on the left and not centered. Also the stats page returns a 404.

I sort of made them like that on purpose, but you think it would look better if they weren't blurry?
I'll check into the footer image.
and i'll add an rss feed with the latest college sports news. and a scores ticker as well even though im not finding any major sports site that provides just sports scores ticker and more specific just college sports. I may have to develop one which will be a pretty little task.
well thanks for the input ..... keep it coming... i was hoping for a few sign-ups... you wouldn't have to add any money as this is in bet@ stages, and I would add it to your account once the activation is done.. that way you would be able to test the pool and stuff.

also. what would be a good way on promoting this? all suggestions welcomed...

 

Good way of promoting....

1. make flyers and put them up around the nearest college... =)

2. Go join some sports forums and start posting and add it to your sig

3. Write some articles related to your site and submit them to articlesender.com to get them submitted to hundreds of directories for free...

4. Start finding articles you can reprint on your site that would help educate your visitors and BOOST the number of search engine results your site will pull up.

5. Tell your friends / family

6. Find NCAA related sports sites and contact them to do a link exchange.

yes. once i'm done with the coding and all I'm going to start promoting it.
On another note. I added a ticker with live scoring. Still looking for feedback on what can be done to improve. but I think I'm getting there.... thanks for all the input so far.

Sir, the site is good and not cluttered but i think you should give some more info about the site at home page itself, as one has to navigate to know more. some links do not work as stats links does not work. please check the same
