Sort of. It's a small way to promote your site while also adding to the size of the tower of 88x31. I'd like it to be the largest user-submitted 88x31 gallery on the web haha. Coded and designed by me. I was bored and wanted to come up with a semi-unique idea
Good idea but one suggestion would be to make it look more like a tower. so, if you don't want to add any graphic in between the "bricks" then programatically do a design like this: * * * * * * * ********** ** ** ** ** ********** I don't know if you get the idea, it's to make it look like a tower, with the teeth at the top and some windows in the middle to shoot at enemies or just get the sun in:
Nice concept but site will become more unpleasant if you add more banners in future. You can restrict the user not to add animated banners to avoid that unpleasant look( Really that animated banners made me to close the site ASAP). Also you can change the adsense ad background color to match the site background color.
It looks good, but I didn´t understand what was it about. You can put a small textbox describing what is the site for.
I'm not really sure how I'd go about doing the isometric look. If you're talking about spaces in the tower? I kind of envisioned this tower to be a silhouette of skyscrapers you see in a major city. oh, ok, if you want the rectangle look of a basic skycrapper, it's ok the way it is. I don't even remember why I assumed tower would mean guard/castle tower.. But if you were interested you could have easily done it with a transparent gif 1px which you display as a 88x31 image in between real images. And yes I was not talking about the isometric look, just showing you the top of a castle tower.
How is the click through working out? Seems like there is alot of ad space, but kinda overwhelming. Does each of the sites linked there pay you for clicks? It would seem to me that such an overwhelming number of sites would greatly reduce click through, and reduce revenue. Interested to hear how it works!
It's a free service to showcase your 88x31, so you're getting that much free adspace. Site higher up on the tower generally earn more clicks as do "standout" banners (ones with more visual appeal). The only form of revenue I'm generating is through publishing 125x125 ads on the side, 88x31 ads on the very top row, and google adsense.
nice concept,, i like it, kinda like the million dollar ad script. I'd love to code something similar to this. It looked like a banner farm, but then the url tells a different story. How do you get your traffic and income from it?
