Hey dpers...hope all is well. Just updated my guitar course website, www.guitarsuccess.com Please review it....I need reviews!! If you were looking for guitar lessons, would you buy this? Any other opinions/suggestions? THANKS
Is that you in the youtube video talking? If so, I would say cheer up more and show some more energy and positive vibe. With the background music (acoustic / mood) and the way you are talking, it sounds like you are trying to talk to potential clients like they are depressed and they need to cheer up. Maybe that's the tone that you were going for, but you might want to experiment with a demonstration video with more edge. However, on the flip side, your video does show that you as a humanized individual, sincere and serious about your product. I just found it a bit too "down", though I don't like overblown hyper video's either. I guess more balance. I would also recommend having some excerpts of your ebooks. This way potential clients can decide if you know what you're talking about. I like that you have guitarworld and guitarplayer etc on your page, this sends a positive first impression, at least it did for me. I also like that you have your email and phone number right on top and easy to find, this shows that you are serious about your product, care about your clients and willing to be available. Also if you were to place your country and or state/city on there, it might make people feel good. The image under your video looks compressed and odd. It also needs space between the image and text. It looks off and unprofessional. I would buy it after I researched it more and it all checked out. I would start by finding you on youtube. You only have 16 videos up http://www.youtube.com/user/gtrzjam. Then I would read comments of posters and followers... Which looks good. I would also suggest that you should make another youtube account or use that one (up to you) and play excerpts of popular cover songs then at the end invite them to visit your site. Don't overdue the sales pitch, keep it subtle. some of your stuff seems overdone as far as sales pitches goes, people aren't stupid and spammy stuff is a quick turnoff. Anyhow, I would do some nice covers excerpts, this will rank good in search and, of course, youtube search. I did a song on youtube and got 45,000 hit on it less than a month. Imagine if only 10% of those viewers went to your site, that's a nice number. Plus when they see your name and website around all over the place, they'll start trusting you. I would also network on guitar blogs, sites and message forums. Don't oversell yourself, just give useful knowledge when you can and people will follow. Lastly, advertise on guitar sites when you can... it'll get your name out there, especially after these folks see your name / site all the time on the world wide web. Sorry if this is long winded, but I am always happy to help a fellow guitarist and musician.
The template is simple and plain but the the site was very slow in loading completely.Specially the banner image and other images.Check it out.
The template is quite complex.. very hotch potch typos.. background colour is also teasing my eyes.. slow in processing. thanks.
Thanks for your input guys...need to get some work done on it! Any other other opinions? thanks again
Sites/pages like these, I always trust them more if they have a message board with real people really talking..
I've skipped other reviews so as to preserve my own opinion... -First off, decide whether to play music or play the video... running both is a noisy mess. -I play guitar so I was happy to check out this site. Here are my thoughts on the video that plays: - for beginners, showing sheet music in the video is intimidating - for beginners, showing fancy leads is intimidating - for beginners, showing someone playing intricate solos is intimidating - - Show someone playing a single chord at a time. - Show tablature - its easier to understand
