Hello! I'm having an issue with my website, Syndistep.net. I have an adwords campaign and got about 100 clicks for keywords like, "new music, dubstep radio, new dubstep" etc. About 75% of those people immediately left the website without going to any of the song pages, the artist pages, or opening the radio player page. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could redesign the site to make people stay longer? Thanks! Site: http://syndistep.net/
If I had clicked into your website, I would have also immediately left. Your color scheme, to me, sucks so badly that I would leave immediately. My first question is, "Are you sure that you are targeting the correct audience in your ad campaign?" Maybe the reason they are bouncing is that the audience that you are targeting has no interest in your product. If they are the correct audience, does your landing page have what they are looking for? If not, then you need to change your landing page.
You really need redesign website. Make it more bright and dynamic (some kind of slider), also think about navigation, visitors must feel comfortable themselves at your site.
I visited your website and I was tempted to leave to. The only thing that kep me thore more than a few seconds was I know I was "going t" check this site out. For me it has nothing to do with your design. But rather, I dont know what your website is all about. At first I thought it was a music download site because of your big slogan... "Your source for the hottest new music..." Then after a few seconds i realized it may not be a download site but its probably either a forum or a blog. Either way I'm confused,
I looks like the entrance of a discoteck or something representing party at night. I think white is the color of the internet, specially if you are posting information that the user must read. Best of lucks Dani
Had a look at your website, and it's clear you've made an attempt to give the feel of the music it's about. However, I feel it's a bit dark which, as others have suggested, makes it hard to read. I'd say the main trouble is clarity though. Your site doesn't allow your users to easily navigate as its hard to work out what's what. If you can make the writing/navbars etc a fair bit clearer so they stood out it would help an aweful lot IMO. If you need any assistance or have further questions - please get in touch, I run a web design business called Simplistic Designs. Kind Regards, Ally McInnes
I would suggest having media players on your landing pages. allow people to listen to some samples. Maybe the music will win them over if the design isn't
Just one quick tip: you need to clarify what it is you want people to do on you website. Right now, it's like the classifieds ads page in the newspaper; nothing stands out. My first response to your website was utter confusion ("um... where do I go here... what is this site about?). Confusion=bad for websites. If, say, your no. 1 priority on your homepage was to get visitors to sign up for your newsletter, then re-tool your site to make it REALLY obvious that that is the one thing you want them to do. Otherwise, your site is only any good for long-time users, new visitors will hit the back button. Read the Big Red Fez by Seth Godin for more about this idea.
It needs better organization. Maybe some jQuery interactivity. Different color scheme. Content structure, etc.
On the design end I would: 1) Change the color scheme 2) Less text on the home page 3) Image links 4) Maybe a logo that communicates it's a music site
I think the design & layout of your website is not good. You may use flash for proper navigation. Make the website's background more bright and attractive. Put some singers image on the background. Attach one mp3 player in the site, so that, if someone visit your site, the mp3 player will automatically play a song.
