a) I did not like the header, may be you can add up some logo, a different text face for "Athletics Inc" etc; may it more attractive and pleasing to viewers.

b) Layout is fine.

c) there are some many ad banners at the top and the content is left behind.
May be you can the change the layout a bit and make the ads and your column to come side by side.

d) I would prefer a white text color for menu items or the top login/signup page; the grey color is very dull.

e) the navigation bar at the right hand side is very interesting and good!

Overall it is a very good effort and with some fine tuning it must be a perfect one!

 

Layout is ok, but I guess you might want to change the font size for the articles link, and change the position of the ads, maybe just leave 1 banner on top to improve visitor experience

 

First of all the layout is pretty simple, and the colour scheme is boring on the eye. There are too many ads on your website and the layout is not particularly well thought out, 4 affiliate ads and an AdSense ad before any content? NO ONE will take a site like that seriously, not at least without good placement.

The whole point in having adverts on a site is to blend it into the content as good as possible to increase CTR, and so that the ads are as unobtrusive as possible to enhance the enjoyment the visitor is having on your website. You even have an affiliate link in your menu which to me would be enough to make me close the browser and leave your site.

I would consider getting your own domain and creating a custom website making use of CSS' features and attributes.

Everything is grey, and you haven't made use of header tags which makes it hard for content to truly stand out and actually appeal to users to even stand reading it. A home page or landing page should always contain an introduction which is a break down of what your website actually does, and this should be condensed enough so that it is easy for visitor to skim read and have a good idea straight away of what the website is about. This increases the chances of visitor staying on your website and decide whether they wish to browse other pages, sign up for your newsletter, download, etc.

If you want your website to even half succeed, you need to look at a website from your own point of view, if it wasn't your website, would you bother to stay and browse the rest of the website.

Sorry if my criticism was harsh, but I always try to give an honest review.
