It looks really nice, you just have to put some things up. I don't think you need double sidebar, put one column, it's enough there. Eventually make it larger (300-325px). Use better color combinations, so they work together. That orange gradient doesn't look too powerful on that gray background. Make it more fun, more colorful, it's about dogs, animals, be more creative, let your imagination float! Don't reserve to boring colors, too usually used.
