There is too much content at the top of the page this makes the site look a
bit messy and you should customize the theme I think it would look better
if you add a few more colors into the color scheme.

 

If you made it more "Web 2.0" I think it would be a lot better. The looks of it would be more appealing.

 

Theres too much content at the top. Also invest $20 in a good web 2.0 logo or go to CoolText.com and make one for free. Otherwise, it looks good.

I would approach other football sites asking for reciprocal links as well.

Header is way too big! You should have a new logo.

Think about promotion of your forum. Forum without users is nothing.

simple is best. Get back to the basics and you'll be on to a winner.
Just think about your site in terms of what a fan would really want.
Put yourself in the shoes of your target market and think hard about
what they would want to see when they log in and what would keep
them there.

Good use of the team logos up top. Maybe you could integrate them into the forum postings.
