    You've got lots of helpful content there but looks more like a white paper full of text to me. You could make use of those bright "jolly" colors of the rainbow to make it look more "alive" or attractive. For instance, why not make your active link red or crimson instead of blue? Even if you have good content, visitors still rate your site according to first impressions. And most of the time, it has to do with colors or design.

    Further, I think you don't need the extra gray background there on the left side. It serves no purpose.


    That's how I see it, I'm not an expert either. =)

    Usually travel side are more about pictures, there are no pictures on your home-page except the logo. There are too many white spaces, perfect places for pictures.
