Hi Folks, I've been lurking around here for a while now putting a new site together, partly as a project but partly to try and create something new on the net. The end result is at http://www.technicant.com, I'd be really interested on feedback that you may have. I've put quite a bit of work into using an existing template but then modifying it so that its running on a custom written back end, that'll be why, at this stage thing like the comments and contact forms aren't implemented. Having said that, I'd be interested to know what people think about the layout, I've gone for a minimalistic, low graphics design (or tried at least). Looking forward to your comments. Phil
Friend.... site information is good and the theme is dulll.. Visit: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1621394 in fact i designed that, i am recommending that to you
We've had a redesign of the site, what do people think now regarding the presentation and layout? Phil
nice, but the header looks a bit empty, and the background blue is quite intense comparing to the pastel blues in the content. I do like the articles though.
1) Title of each blog entry on the home page should look bright and large. (cee techcrunch.com) 2) Google AD on homepage right side panel has a white background which doesnt merge well.
nice design, though i would change a bit the colors. black, blue and light blue make it a little bit dull. great job otherwise!
My first impression upon entering the site was the large twitter button. Of course, I have nothing against twitter, but if it was replaced with something smaller, I think the overall effect it would have on the site would be greater, and blend more into the biological design. You could possibly even make a link to twitter in the menu bar. Next, I was impressed by the location of the advertisement box. I did not even notice it until I remembered that it must be there somewhere to help fund the site That could be good and bad, depending on if your looking for clicks, or views. Next, I scrolled down a bit - and more, and more. The amount of posts on one page seemed pretty obnoxious. I recommend that you allow less posts per page. In conjunction with the previous recommendation, I think that you should possibly consider more text to be displayed before a user needs to "Read on". This would cause a more heavy-duty approach to the design. Overall, the template is fundamentally productive, and has space for improvement. 8/10 Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope you find my review somewhat beneficial
