    good design but your homepage is too familiar..
    and your link include elgg1.6.1 what is that? not good for seo..

    Make your logo background the same with your site's background to make it look better. Yes, the overall template looks like a default template though it can still be improved.

    Anyway, I have tried Elg before on one of my site but now I opted for Buddy Press since I am more comfortable with the wordpress platform.

    You need some text explaining your site and its features. This is good for SEO and for people to know what it is. Honestly, if I were to find your site through the search engines, I would be "what is this?"

    Otherwise, looks good. Fix your logo, add some text with "keywords", and start on your SEO campaign.

    Looks good. However as suggested above. You should make it have it's own domain and not in a folder
