I would like to get opinions on the colors and layout of my non-commercial site. You don't need to read any of the content, just give me you general impression of the graphics and basic design.

Try to get better pictures. (Higher resolution) so you can downscale them.

geez, thats really not so great as it is...!! Needs a real re-vamp! Tried hiring a freelance web designer?! Your site needs it...the whole things needs to be redesigned!

Try getting a banner, logo, nice images, better content placement, change background colour...basically the whole thing!

I agree its a little bright.

 

I think the design is a little too basic, and the images are pixelated.

 

You shouldn't enlarge the jpg used for the header.

also, it's very nice to see a site without ads on it. I almost forgot what those looked like

 

The site needs a little work. I think it would work well as a blog.

Look into installing wordpress, you can find tons a free templates. It would also make it easy to update in the future.
