I have been getting low CTR's (below 1%) and my site has been up for four weeks. I was wondering what I am doing wrong and what I can change? <a href="http://www.juicedsportsblog.com">http://www.juicedsportsblog.com</a>
I have a leaderboard on top and a 336 px wide square in the first post on the front page. Leaderboard is the biggest size possible and 336 px is the biggest square possible. The other one is small because I thought it fit well there, but do you think it would get more clicks in upper sidebar? I had it there for the first three weeks and it wasn't prefoming well, but the size was 200x200. I would have a hard time making it much bigger because I don't really know how to expand one sidebar without expanding the other. As for Firefox, I don't really know how to fix it, and it looks fine on all the browsers I use, so if anyone could tell me how to fix blogs for different browsers, I'd like to hear how.
The first thing that come to my mind after visiting ur site is YUCK! the Site looks all Messed up with messed up content and ad placements Seriously dude You gotta change the whole thing
Alright, so I made a bunch of tweaks to the Blogger code that were recomended on Blogger help websites, but apparently that f-ed it up. I guess I'll have to use a standard layout. Can you go to http://www.juicedmedia.blogspot.com (my other website that I didn't change much on) and see if it looks okay for you so I can see if it is just because I changed the code on that site or if it is because all of my Blogger sites are messed up? And I suppose if I get my site fixed my CTR will improve?
Alright, I think I might have gotten it fixed for some of your browsers. I haven't heard this many complaints ever since I started it, so I think it might have been once recent change, and if that is the case, my ad placements still suck. See if it works now: http://www.juicedsportsblog.com
Okay, I have now had confirmation from a few people on AIM that my blog is fixed, so this validates my theory that it only recently got messed up a week ago. Now, let's talk ads. The leaderboard is my top performer. I added a 125x125 button in between links on the recent news header two days ago, so I have no data on how that's been working. Do you think it's a good idea? Because of that, I had to get rid of the 200x200 text block that used to be in the left sidebar... And, I also have a something by 336 in the summary of my posts. That has only been there for two days, so I don't have any data on that either. Again, my url is http://juicedsportsblog.com
Still lots of white space in Opera 9 - actually it's the right hand column pushed off the edge of my screen, even at 1024x768. Oh, and that row of pics with the Google ad in the middle might be against the rules, especially given the "Latest news" header above it. The big block with the Subscribe to RSS, Technorati favourites, etc seems a bit excessive after every story, and only three stories on the front page is pretty thin. Oh, and I just checked your source - your google_ad_section tags are all messed up!
