I'd change to title to start with your prime keyword. Nobody is going to search on nbacolletion.com.

Then the answer is dead simple. Get more backlinks. Get more backlinks. And Oh yes! get more backlinks.

 

Yes, I'm aware now that the keywords are very weak. I typed whatever first came to my mind when I made the site. Will change my keywords.

This might be dead simple to some, but how do you get backlinks?

One easy way to start finding places to submit your link is doing a search like this:

http://www.google.se/search?hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=nba+basketball++"add+link"&meta=

Another way is to search Google with keywords like: basketball, NBA ...

Go through the sites you receive and ask them to add your link or ask if they would be interested in a linkswap. If you have some money you could ask if they accept text link advertisements.

Let me know how it goes in a year or two.

 

It occurred to me that maybe you are asking "what is a backlink" rather than how do you get them.

A backlink is what Google calls a link from another page or site that points to your page. Google actually counts links from pages in your own site. So every page that has a "home" link technically is a back link.

You can find out how many backlinks Google is reporting by using the Google tool bar or by using the 'link:www.mydomain.com'. If you use the tool bar you will be aware of Google's PageRank or PR number. This is involved because Google only reports backlinks from pages with PR4 or higher.

If you really mean how do you get them, you can offer to do reciprocal linking with other webmaster. You can buy links. You can put a notice on your web site inviting any users to link to your site if they have found it useful.

I noticed you have links in your sig on this forum. These are also backlinks. Many people join forums mainly to get this source of links.

I've just looked at your site and one suggestion that I've got is that you could possibly make your headings larger (H2 or 3) in each information section (in the middle yellow area.) Also, you could add a header to the first welcome section text.

This would help your information design and if you incorporated keywords into your headings it would help your rankings.

 

Make the heading a bit larger for sure

to me i don't see a site but only banners and links. also i don't like internal scrollbars. i would not bookmark this site since it does not add user value

 

I agree with yeahfree, it's pretty cluttered and I would like to see more simple content. Maybe less ads would help? A lot of people will not browse sites that are polluted with ads. But besides that, I think you did a great job
