Please review my site

    Hi,

    Please review my site http://www.unclaimed-uk-property.co.uk.

This is my first attempt at an eBook mini site and I was hoping to get some feedback.

I'm basically looking for advice on how the copy / design / layout could be improved to make people more inclined to click on the 'buy now' button! ;)

I want to make sure the site is tuned to convert as well as possible before I open it up to the ClickBank marketplace and try and get affiliates on board.

    Thanks in advance!

    Dan

At a quick glance...the header is absolutely excellent! A+! The content and design seem great. The only thing I would add that is overlooked often is a favicon

    Nice Job!

I like the header and nice concept. I find it a bit long to scroll down.
    Good luck ('',)

    Thanks routed11, angelfire & terryuk!

The main thing that I'm unsure about with the site is whether it sells itself well enough to get people to click the buy button... Do you think I need to push the visitor harder with some sort of 'Buy now because the price could treble by tomorrow' sort of thing? I've held back a bit up to now because I was concerned that the UK market doesn't tend to react well to 'aggressive' marketing?

Any internet marketing people out there with an opinion, I'd be grateful?

Myself I wouldn't try that. I've seen site's do that and for me it is a immediate turn off. Try and sell your product on its merit.

As the others said the header caught my attention and is great.

The layout of the site is classic of a sales site, which leads me not to trust it, and to domain (excessively keywordy, used dashes) accents this.

    Thanks theoverpass,

I hear what you're saying, but it's kind of a catch-22; you use all the tricks that you know to make the site work well as a sales tool & search engine magnet, and you end up loosing trust from those who can see what you're up to. It's hard to win in both respects at once!

I don't think that my target audience is that web savvy though, so hopefully it won't look too contrived?

I like the Flash intro also. But the layout seems a bit too "salesy." But hey it's not a lot of money you are asking for the product, so just try it for awhile and see what happens.

Hey thanks for the review of my site - was very helpful!

The headers very cool, layout's good and personally I didn't mind the scroll down that anglefire mentioned.

I'm a newbie at all this but here's what I thought from what I've read in the past - you may disagree but these are just suggestions:

    1. What about adding testimonials if you can get any? Apparently they have good persuasive power?
    2. You only seem to have alt text for the first image (free property). What about making use of the other images' alt texts?
    3. Do you have any qualifications/training for this? If applicable it might be best to mention those to increase the trust of your visitors as an authority figure.

As I say these are only suggestions coz I'm a newbie! :)

Oh also, you mentioned adding 'buy now becuase...' onto your site. I think that would discourage some of your potential customers due to the fact that there are a lot of scam sites out there with similar layouts. If you push your visitors too much into buying they may start associating your site with those other sites?

This isn't to say I think your site's a scam btw!!!!! Just making sure there's no misunderstanding there. :)

Anyway I hope my thoughts were useful...

A nice little trick which I would implement:

Give the users a bit of useful information which they could use to almost get started. Not so much as they would not need to buy the book but enough for them to know that it contains useful information. This also builds up trust and confidence. This will definately encourage users to buy and I don't know why more people aren't giving away free info!

    Example:

Say you got an email saying "Cheapest legal help available"

Would you click - no! probably not (unless you actually needed legal help at that point in time)

Say the email gave a small except of interesting infomation about legal help that was relevant.

Would you click? Well, maybe not....but in the future the company giving away the free interesting info would be the first I'd contact!!

Header is good, a little long on load time though. Overall site is nice and clean. Could have a better domain name.

Wow. The site looks great! Good job on the design.

I would only suggest adding testimonials or giving more specific examples of success. You may also consider adding another "Click here to order..." button closer to the top of the page so that the person that was sold immediatly doesn't have to scroll down to the bottom.

    Thanks Guys!

    Some REALLY good advice there!

Darkhodge - The testimonials idea is great, I'll see what I can come up with. Promoting myself as an authority figure is a bit of a problem though, as I'm not the author; I just purchased the resale rights.

Notting - Brilliant idea that I'll definately look into!

Thanks to everyone for your sugestions.

Looks clean and professional. The favicon idea is a good one. You might add that this is normally selling for L38 but marked down for a limited time to L19.95 to the first 100 buyers. Run a brief PPC campaign on adwords to see how well it converts. Then you can test different versions of it. Then you can boast in you clickbank ad that you got x,xxx visitors in xx days, and xx% conversions.

BTW: I clicked all the "Next..." button without entering any information in the opt-in 'namesqueeze' page and it still continued to the clickbank order page. Then, I clicked the "Continue" button without entering the zip code or country, and that also advanced. Those are probably bugs in your page scripts.
