I have a website I am in the middle of building. It is not finished and a lot of the features don't work yet (mailing list, poll, some of the RSS feeds, etc) I have completed the homepage, some insdie pages, and 2 of the sections - the Insurance section and the Real Estate section. I would like some opinions of the layout etc before I proceed further. The url is http://www.financenewstoday.com Regards, Hubert
I like the clean look of the site and it is very easy to navigate/read. The logo/header looks somewhat grainy. Not very clear. The section info looks nice. I would suggest changing the clipart of the house and the family so there are not duplicate pictures. It gets confusing, it seems like the pages are the same. I would definately find some more clipart. The site is very informative.
thanks for the input. I have changed the pictures. The grainy header could be do to the background. I may change that as well. I hope it will be something big down the road. Keep the ideas coming
I think the ads could be better blended there is a very good post somewhere on the forum with brilliant examples of techniques for blending (may also want to move ads about 3/4 way down the page rather than bottm. Nice looking site though
i would use the same "bright orange" on the letters of the logo that you are using on the rest of the news titles so they can match. I cant see half of the words that you put on the main bar i mean home, news, calculator, etc i guess it is an effect u want to give but i dont see the point, put them all inside the blue bar. The search icon is completely out of position. and if you are gonna make the homepage so long, at least use the empty space in the lateral columns, it looks too "empty" down there. hope my comments help you somehow. good luck! ; )
Thank you for your comments crcr2003. What browser are you viewing in b/c everything appears inline on mine? Also, I plan on adding button ads and skyscraper ads in that space, just haven't gotten around to it yet
