it's neat-looking.. the colors are tame so i find it ok.. only it's too text-heavy.. everything int he first page..too long i think..

It seemed fine to me. I go to sites to learn so text is fine.

Well done pages. Clear layout with contrasting text and heading.
Good job. I end up bookmarking your site to see if there's anything useful to use.

Just work on content .. no significant layout changes needed

lots of white space (I know, most think that that is a good thing) and the vertical length are a bit much. other than that its very fast and readable

Looks profesional altho i think you could utilize your google ads a bit better. Stick em higher up the page if you're interested in increasing revenue that is, howver the site design looks good.

I've always loved sites w/ clean looks and yours is one of those...However, most importantly what makes such sites standout is unique content. Though most of the articles suit well, I think you have a few that do not have relevance to the theme of your site.

    Warm Regards,
    Kavs

Thanks everyone for the input .. it's greatly appreciated and all will be taken into account.

rateAcoder - Intersting ... can you let me know which posts you think don't match the theme. It would help me nail down that unique content I'm after.

for everyone - Seeing that my theme is writing about online business run from home what topics would you feel I should cover.

    Cheers,
    Martin

Nice design and blog. Just one thing. I'm not digging the banner. I think you got a great idea but the colors just dont go. But only for the banner, I love the colors on the rest of the page.

    Hi Martin,

I felt the news on possibility of IE7 being supported only on XP, Browster, Spybot etc., were more apt for a tech blog.
In general, what I meant was that you have quite a few articles reviewing tech gadgets and related articles which did not fit well at a few places.
Ofcourse, you still have pretty interesting ones as well.

    Warm Regards,
    Kavs

rateAcoder - thanks for that. It's hard because I'm writing from a point of view of a internet business being run from home - so I pick issues/topics to write about that I think would be of interest to someone who spends a lot of time online running their business (like myself). So I see myself as something of test bunny ... if it interests me in the slighest it might interest others (it might - that's the trick in getting the right content).

Maybe the techie stuff should be written shorter with links out if my readers are interested.

Funnily enough, the IE7 posts have been the most popular (visited/commented on) - go figure!

    Cheers,
    Martin

Um I don't know how good you are with whatever image program you used, I assume photoshop. But why not replace the mouse with a picture of a real computer mouse and make it blend in. The one you have looks like clip art. (For all I know it may be). And with the big bold letters make them stand out more. Make the stroke darker black and have the color match the yellow-orange thats on part of the search toolbar below. Notice how the subtitle stands out and hits your more than the main large title? I'd make it the other way around.(The subtitle less showy). I like the faded color and shadow you have going so thats cool.

I don't mean to be so critical, just had some thoughts about it. Nice Job on the site though otherwise thought. Keep up the nice work.

Most WordPress users will recognize this theme. IMO, it would be better to customize the design a bit more. There might be more people like myself, that leaves a page upon seeing commonly used themes. It gives me the impression of a scraper or a spam site. :p
