I am not so much a fan of the scrolling text but I think this will do well. You grab users attention with video and then your page is laid out quite nice. Good job.

Thanks for taking the time to give me a review, its much appreciated, the scrolling text will go away when my new skin is complete.

Im excited about this project, ive got a pretty decent email optin list from my other site http://www.hanzoswords.com with about 6000 customers so its a good start to market too, plus i have close to 4000 people from Amazon but have to manually make a list of all of those customers.

 

HAHA.. I love it. I just realized your other site is Hanzo from Kill Bill.. Very good niche.

The scrolling banner hurts my peripheral vision.

 

Ive removed the scolling text based upon yours and others feedback.

 

Night and Day! This skin works great and your logo looks so much better.
I am okay with the rotating ad but I think you may want to make that portion
of it just a tad bit smaller.
You don't want the fold of your web page to be a banner ad. Unless those rotating
ads are actually things you are promoting on your site.

 

Those will be ads eventually i just have to fill in the blank. I will be adding some adsense links to the page soon, just have to figure out where, im thinking of a box below the categories on the left side and maybe some text links under the header.

I hope to go live by Monday but there a few bugs in the script that i have to have resolved, but im getting a major update to fix those bugs around the 15th.

Keep your eyes peeled, even if your not into the knives and swords you won't believe the promotions and prices ill be offering just to try to get people create some buzz about the site.

Ive cleaned it up a bit more today, took away the ugly purple links.

Thanks, i think plain is good i want it be functional and easier to understand rather than be flashy. Down the road i may invest in a more sophisticated design but for now its good enough i think.

I would make the registration graphic something not so....flashy. I totally ignored it thinking it was an ad.

Where you are going to advertise, (banner rotate), I would advertise the give-away. I understand the video explains it but the small text above and below doesn't really draw attention.

The video should have an intro screen viewable when the video is not playing. Though when I play the video I can see and hear that it's David Carradine, before you click on "play" it doesn't tell you anything about the site.

Thanks for the suggestion if you go back to my site ive added a promo slideshow im working on graphics to give more info on the giveaways as we speak (type ) The video itself will probalby stay how it is for now but since i have all the original data/footage i can down the road make a better video presentation that doesnt have to be hosted on youtube. But i must admit its good for traffic

 

good niche and very good site but skin could have been more attractive

 

What would you have done to make it more attractive? How about adsense ads? I was thinking of text links under the header and a vertical ad under the categories on the left side of the page.

 

I just changed the logo, added a few promo items, any suggestions on adsense location reccomendations?
