Ignoring possible issues with speed (needs a faster server I guess), I wouldn't mind a few opinions on my new site... 'Review My Site' [ www.reviewmysite.co.uk ] No matter where I go there's a forum thread (like this one) for reviews, so I've created a site where that thread is the forum Anyway, let me know what think. I'm happy enough with it for now, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved...
1. WAY too many ads. As a new forum you are telling people to run away! 2. Unless you have thousands of people waiting to join your site you may want to start with fewer categories until the forum builds up. 3. I like the actual style of the forum template. Good color and mouseover attributes. 4. You have too much "junk" above the fold. -Jon
To me, appears fine and you have done good home work. 2 suugestions, one; please promote it aggressively with just 2 regd users, unless, participation comes fast, users may not repeat visit. In general things are OK to me. You only have 2 registered poster, try promoting your site more. You can also add contest to attract members and you can also hire posters. You can also add meta tags as a basic seo technique and make the color more lively. Good luck and a job well done.
Thanks all, looks far leaner after implimenting the changes, yep I've left a few ads one the bottom out of the way, leaving the place far less cluttered and, yep, put in some the meta desc and keywords. The number of threads I am willing to leave because I think the traffic will come and I'd rather it was tidy at the start ready rather than have to sshuffle everything a month or so down the line. Yeap, now it's much better I also suggest You to make some graphic logo at the top (even in flash technology if You put some text title under that).
Looks nice and clean. I think it's a good concept as well. I didn't see the before site with all of the ads, but the current site looks clean. Like a few users have said, promote it and get more users to sign up. I mean when poeple go to a forum I for example tend to look at the #of registered users and the more there is the better i feel about getting my problem solved or feedback. Good luck with it.
Looks good now, clean and stuff. I like green ! BUT you need new header image and you need LOGO. Great idea for site !
