I've started a new blog and wanted to hear you thoughts. Tell me what you think and submit your link on my blog here.

 

I think that you need to redesign the header and especially Logo , make them more attractive

 

Thanks for the advice. The problem is that I'm not that photoshop literate so that is basically the best I can do. I might ask someone to give it a revamp.

i would have to agree with what rentdn said about the logo. also a little more content would be good. just seems too blah. lol i dont know if thats a good term for it.

 

When you say more content are you referring to the number of posts displayed on the front page? I agree with you on that, maybe five posts displayed would be best.

 

It looks pretty good. I agree with the first post about the header and stuff, but what you have there is decent and gets your point across. There are no ads...just information. The only other suggestion that I have would be maybe a few more photos to liven things up a bit.

Also...I am honing my Web 2.0 logo skills...actually I'm just starting. I've been a Photoshop freak for quite a while, but just recently starting researching the Web 2.0 look. I'd love to send you a couple prototypes free of charge, no strings attached. We bloggers have to stick together. Oh, and thanks for the link!!! I'll try to throw up a couple logos on this thread before Thanksgiving.

 

The logo could use a little work, and I think there's a little too much white space beneath the directory search field. I'm all for white space, but only if it's used effectively.

For the logo, just remove the drop shadow and clean up the text a little. I like the font you used. Maybe make the logo a little smaller, though.

I don't like having banners and other ads on my blog, in my opinion they cheapen any good site. On the other hand they do liven things up, but still not interested.

I took a look at your blog and at the logo creating site. I'll give them a try to see what comes out of there. If you can make me a better logo I would really appreciate it.

 

Thanks, I can see the logo is the big problem here. The white space is a big problem and to be honest with you I really don't know what to do about it.

Yeah...the logo creatr might serve you well in the interim. It's basic, but it gets the job done in a pinch. I'll see what I can come up with. I want to practice a bit and then start entering contests for logos, so we'll see. Thanks.

Yes, I think that must be from another site since I don't have ads on my blog.

 

I like it mostly because it is simple, but I would advise a little bit more in the header instead of just the title.

 

Maybe you could change the logo especially your theme, and arrange your directories properly. Good luck!

 

I would like to thank everyone that gave me their opinions. From what I've heard nearly everyone here hates my logo so I guess it has to go. I'll be taking care of that soon, meanwhile I would like to hear more opinions.
