Hey guys, I've recently updated my site, please let me know what you think! - www.rjpwebdesign.co.uk Cheers, RJP1
1. The form input element is styled rather strangely. I understand you do this for esthetic reasons, but it's a bit too light at the moment (as well as small) 2. Due to the login bar, the search form is positioned in a bad position. There's alot of space going to waste there (to the left of it) I would just remove the login bar completely and have a specific login page. 3. Your portfolio page. Instead of specifying the URL, just say "Visit site" next to the "More info" button. You may also consider placing the title above the thumbnail instead of below. Lastly, your thumbnails could be improved by zooming in on the site and not have the empty left and right borders in the images as well. 4. I filled in your contact page (sorry for the gibberish) and did not receive a success message. 5. On your registration page you add * to indicate required fields, but on your contact page you do no such thing. Also, on your registration page, every field is required anyway, so I don't know why you bother with the * on that page. 6. On the portfolio page lightbox zoom, consider having next/prev buttons. 7. There doesn't seem to be an about page. This is essential.
Hey! I agree with premiumscripts Otherwise it looks very simple and elegant. But i saw you haven't put much content in it. Any specific reason?
Thanks for the replies, I don't understand what space is wasted to the left of the search bar... could you do a screen shot for me please? Thanks. As for content, I'm redoing the site. It's been live for a day (I scrapped the old site). Also, I'm keeping it clean and uncluttered - not useless info is going to be on the site. The contact page does say thanks, but at the top. Something I need to address really. RJP1
Don't want to take a screenshot right now. It's just that you use alot of space and on that horizontal space you only use the last 100 pixels to the right for the search. So left of that is all whitespace. You should find a better position.
Oh, I just tested in another browser. It's just me I have it set in my default browser that the text size is a little bigger than standard, this caused the search box to go to a new line it seems. In the other browser it's perfectly fine
Phew! Thanks for that. Maybe I'll make them slightly smaller just in case for other people if they have large text! Thanks again, I've done the reg page and contact redirect too RJP1
