Keep asking people to visit and comment...even get some paid posters on there to get things going for a few months. The more content, the more Google will see value. Also, be patient.
I think the content in home page is very less, try to add some more. Otherwise reduce the spaces between the posts.
your blog is very interesting. I think you need a light weight, fresh theme with a logo showing your attitude. Also dont keep the theme full width.
I agree about the theme. I like that it's a clean, sparse look... but it feels a little heavy for the content. I like that the posts are short and to the point with good supporting visuals.
Just a quick look, i like your blog so simple and near clean layout but Content is King! so you better do add some in your site.
