I dont understand I'm not really getting as many hits as I planned. Is it something with the layout or am I just not advertising it right? www.lightningproxy.net
Its not even 2 days old yet... Have you submitted your site to proxy.org ? I would also suggest trying some other topsites if your current ones do not produce.
Hits has definitely nothing to do with your layout. I think you've undertaken this proxy project with the mentality of getting easy money/traffic out of it. Rest assure it's not as easy as everyone says it is. You need to actively promote/SEO your site in order to gain the hits/traffic. I would suggest by doing link exchanges with other sites (look for a max of no more then 15 outbound link on their page, this gives some weight to your link and will help you in search engines), then do some on-site SEO, use <h1> tags for the main keywords you are targeting, make sure you are using the correct meta description & keywords (you currently have none), then submit to toplists + topsites (these gives you low quality traffic, but once you've done everything above, you can now afford to do this) Hope that helps you. Andy.
Thanks for all the replies. As far as the SEO thing I don't know too much about it yet. I will definately look more into it. But is it possible to join proxy.org for free as an affiliate? Only advertising on their site I could find cost $200 a month.
You can submit your proxy to proxy.org for free. You do not need to buy the 200$ worth of advertising on their site. In my opinion it's not worth it anyway. Your main aim to get traffic should be from search engines, not paid advertising. But if you feel like you have the money to invest in your site, I would suggest buying a bold listing ($20) on proxy.org, it will help bring in a few more hits each day and will definitely give you profit you in the long run. Click here http://proxy.org/contact.shtml and choose the subject to suggest a new proxy. Make sure you have their text link on your site first. Good luck, Andrew.
