I think the design could be improved, you should add more colors into the color scheme, I think the blog would look better if you made the background color of the right column different from the rest of the blog. I think you should add some graphics into the header.
It looks like any other typical blog, simple and nice. You might want to consider putting in adsense to monetize it.
It is a little on the plain side, but content is what is most important. And why you have a blog in the first place. I love to write. My blog is "interesting looking", I'll put it that way. But one topic really took off and my general "what interests me today" blog is now dominated by it. So I have to build a website for this one topic. I've built simple websites but was convinced to use Joomla because there are SO many components.....over 3500 and more every day, and SO many templates...thousands and new ones every day, that I could make this a very powerful site. Instead I have analysis paralysis. There are SO many choices....there is SO much I could do........I'm overwhelmed. So work on the colors, brighten (or darken) it up a little, through up some ads and write. Unless you're in this to make money, then you've got to go state of the art on the blog design.....it can't look like every other Word press Blog. Good luck either way, Mr. Unloadingzone.
I like your blog. It has a great amount of content. One thing I might suggest is to change the headings and fonts to perhaps make it a little more organised. Overall it is a great site for movie buffs.
I think it's ok but you can further improve on it by working to personalize the blog - add favicon, custom logo and banner.
