I agree that the forum is plain, so you might possible consider a theme that is related to your niche. However, it is easily readable, so you should try to maintain that factor. Of course, since you are just starting out, you're not going to have all the content or members in the world. But, the best thing at this stage would be to get your forum recognized and add new posts/threads on a constant basis. And remember, if you show no interest in your own forum, no one else will either.
