Please review my new website, especially layout and design aspects

My website is: http://aquaristmagazine.com/ and I would like to know what everybody thinks of it. Please can you say how you find the layout and design of my website. Alos, are there any usability issues I need to focus on?

very nice, clean and clear site.. i like it..
do you think visitors will click the calendar on the bottom to find a post ?
can you make the top menu in one row ? on browser it is two rows..

Very nice. All of the most important links are within easy reach. The one thing I'd say is that I found the heading font a little difficult to read, but apart from that it's great. Good luck with it.

 

I like it. Somethings I would improve on,

the height of the topbar; it's so small
the nav; it's simple, but maybe add some effects
the footer needs some work;
The share your page box; style the text? It looks so out of place on that sidebar.

 

Hi there. Looks good, here are a few of my opinions--and they are just that. =)

The good:
The header is simple, nice photo, and includes the name of your site.
You have social media set up.
The site has good colors, aesthetically pleasing.
Generally, good layout

The bad:
The fonts seem to be all over the place.
The top navigation bar is quite small.
The bottom navigation bar is quite large and goes onto 2nd line.
The social media bar is not in the top fold.

Suggestions:
Less words in the post teasers (will bring "Recent Posts" closer to the fold.
Remove thumbnails in sidebar widget "Recent posts"
Change "Questions & Answers" to FAQ or Q&A to get it all on one line (or change font)
Remove "Pages" sidebar widget and add some to footer (you already have most of it on top nav bar)
Change amount of recent posts to closer to 5 to make the page shorter.

I think these are all minor changes, you are off to a great start with a good amount of content. Good luck to you!!

 

Your site looks clean and organized. not too busy, just enough color but not too much to steer away from the content.

 

The theme (sahifa) you used is nice, overall layout is good, and the thick lines of sky-blue looking great. The only thing I feel, there are too much UNORGANIZED white/blank space. As example, in the Recent Posts column (left) the text amount (not font size) is lesser than the size of the thumbnail used, and it creates some unwanted blank space. Just try to reduce the size of the thumbnail and you should have better result.

- The picture and font are too small especially on bottom side
- There are some blank space on your site like on right bottom side

Hi, it`s a great site you have there in terms of design, i love the contrast and the choice of colors. One thing : maybe you should make links more visible, especially the Read More ... maybe red. Good luck !
