I agree. Digg was the first mover and everyone goes there first so I am trying to carve out my own niches that maybe Digg does not cover as well. Good developers are always hard to find. Many think that they are much better than they actually are and turn out unreliable, unmaintainable code and database structures. It is the way of the world nowadays. So there are many hurdles to becoming a big site but I am trying to get there step by step. First, there is the matter of getting the right subject matter. This is a topic that I am good at an know well. Hopefully, it gets traction. Initial results are good since visitors are lingering and voting.

Digg went all to pot recently when they changed the setup. I mean it was bad before but now it's just rubbish. </end bitching about digg>

The possibilities with this domain are endless. dating.links.com is another subdomain that springs to mind. I could sit here all day coming up with them and never repeat myself.

But yeah, finding the right people is going to be the biggest hurdle at first (and sorry, no, I don't know a good team). As for traction, that's easy enough if you use subdomains: celebrity.links.com, funny.links.com should do the trick.

 

Yes, I agree. There would be many ways to grow once I get a following. All of your suggestions are great ones. I will definitely keep them in mind as the site evolves. Thanks again!

Fantasitc domain but have to agree with a couple of people in this thread that you are heading down the wrong route with a bookmarking site. Potential or not it could be used for much greater things. What ever you choose to do with it , good luck.

 

I would rather try to develop it. Hope this idea works out.

I visited links site and it looks great. You really have a great site and we are positive that you can earn more to your site.

 

I have to agree with many of the other posts, site is nice but currently vastly under uses the strength of the domain name. It seems to only be about money making links. You could have created money.links.com for this and used other sub domains for many other categories.
