I decided to start a new blog, stelaw.blogspot.com, because I have a crap load of articles that I have tried to get published as guest editorials, but none got picked up. I plan on writing more, but I wanted them to be read by people, so I decided to stop hoping they get published, and just publish them on my own blog. Eventually, I will buy a domain name and custom template, but for now, I am just working with blogger and adsense. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially how to promote the blog.
I agree the stuff is fairly serious, but I really like writing about public policy. I will definitely try to throw in a humorous post every once in an while though...
honestly I am looking to make some cash from this too. so reviews towards making the readers happy as well as driving in more readers would be great.
You are writing some great content, but I suggest you try getting a paid host and your own domain. It's very easy to important your posts from blogger to wordpress and I definitely also suggest you try it out. It's much better than blogger
What about just getting my own domain for now, and then point it to the blogger. Then when the blog is self-sustainable financially, I can get hosting. Sound like a plan?
Ok, i'll try to keep the articles shorter. But I am probably going to continue to write 90% serious, public policy topics. Think I can gain a following? Make some money?
I like your writing style, but I think you need to find a better blogspot theme, the one that you're using right now is too boring. A serious topic with a boring theme will scare your visitor really fast.
