Hi, I looked at your store and it is a good example of what an amazon site should be Highly targeted to one brand with separate pages for each product. Or even better, highly targeted to one product. There are two suggestions that I would make however. 1. Get rid of the "other brands" tab at the top. The people you want to come to your site should be highly targeted and ready to buy so your site is really there to give them that little extra boost in confidence to push them over the edge. When you include an "other brands" tab, you are basically telling them "Stop! Don't buy this yet. Keep shopping. There are other brands that might interest you." The message that your site needs to send is "Stop Looking. This is the right product for you! You have made a good decision to buy this so get off my site and over to Amazon and buy it." that button is a distraction. Now, if you are married to that tab and in love with it, then I would have it point over to Amazon (your affiliate link) so that they get your cookie. This way, no matter what they end up buying, you will get the commission. 2. I would show some accessories at the bottom of your pages instead of just having a tab for accessories. Do not have an actual page for the accessories on your site though. These links should take them directly to Amazon. If they are interested in accessories, then they are very close to buying so you want to get them over to the Amazon site so you will get the cookie. Also, I am not sure what the "links" button is doing there either. Lastly, why is there Adsense on this site? Another distraction. There are certain types of sites that are good for Adsense, an Amazon site is not one of them. I don't know what kind of SEO you are doing but that is another post I guess. Hope it helps. Damon
Having a trademarked name in your domain is just asking for trouble if you ask me. I wanted to register a domain with the word 'ebay' in it and I strongly advised from a legal standpoint not to proceed. Next question might sound ignorant but - Will there be any additional content? I am new to the amazon affiliate program but shouldn't there be some non-stock description content, i.e. reviews, news etc to get people wrapped up in the topic and visiting your blog again and again? AJT
Firstly, clean design that's straight to the point! Should have great potential if marketed right. Secondly, I'm not sure if you are allowed to register and own a domain name with a brand on it. It's kind of a grey area.
How is it going by the way.... Alot of great feedback so far so Im curious if you are generating traffice and increasing sales. Hopefully you area and all is going well
Put a little human touch in it. I mean reviews, people are looking for reviews. They want to know what others are saying about the product, is it good, is it worth to buy, does it really make my live easier, etc. Remember that most of the time, amazon.com rank highly in google for the product keyword you're targeting. The reason why people skip the amazon.com is because they want to read something different from other websites.
I think your site is focused and the niche is clean. Once you begin to post comments to blogs about vacuum cleaning, home appliances and home and garden you can begin placing links back to your site from your post. This will get you some extra SE luv. I know many people don't like to use Adwords to drive traffic to there sites, because those same folks believe it doesn't help, but I do think you can get sales that way, so would recommend doing Adwords for a little while. Is there certain times when folks purchase more vacuum cleaners like during the Spring(Spring cleaning) Christmas,June (Bridal Presents) and August (most homes are sold then I believe). Those times may be a good time to use Adwords. My $0.02
Very nice looking site, I love the large images and the description with the price check. However when I click to read more about the product your page doesn't have a buy now button, I don't understand that, how do people buy if they like your extended description? Also, I agree with one of the previous commenters that having a parts/accessories page could be improved. Are you trying to rank for Dyson parts? If so there is no content on the page, and people who find you because they are looking for vacuum cleaners shouldn't be distracted by parts information. It's a great effort, just needs to be tweaked.
