Please Review My MFA Tribute Blog :)

I've had this domain for a few weeks, (someone let it drop). This week end I got a wild hair and decided to get something on it.
It's a tribute site to Detroit's most influential radio DJ, Electrifying Mojo, and The Midnight Funk Association (His midnight membership club).

Anyway, it was very influential to a lot of people in S.E. Michigan, N. Ohio, and Windsor Ca, and he is credited with influencing the 3 main artist that started Detroit Techno, and House, which spun into Dance Music as we know it today worldwide. (See the connection ? I have a Dance Music blog, and I grew up around this time in Detroit )

Content is still in the making, it has a lot of categories, but once I get the initial 12-15 articles on it this week, I will rely on user submission.

It's a free theme that I did a little hack job on ,(will definitely change the header when I get an idea) tell me what you think.

The overall layout and design is good however, I dislike the font which
is used in the header.

 

Yes, I have heard that before.

I will change it as soon as I get an idea of what to put there. However I changed the sidebar headers to match that font. Does that need changing as well, or does it work there?

I like dark designs so in short I like your design, a bit of SEO keywords wont hurt

 

I want to suggest change your title font.. not nice to see.. Its really un professional.. just use simple fonts..

 

OK, OK....changing the header. I need to come up with a new design, may as well do it all at once.

Changed font and header all together. Still fi=ound it hard to go with a simple font...just doesn't go with the theme and subject of the blog.

Of course, still a work in progress.

Looks good to me. A lot of images and I can see that content has already started flowing in. Have you check also on the social bookmark buttons? It seems that the buttons get pushed down lower and becomes hidden if the words are too long. (I'm using latest version of FF)

 

It is professional and cool theme .
The light balck background is comfortable within the site .
I don't have any suggestion to improve it .

About the bookmarking thing, I'll just have to e careful not to put too many lines in the excerpt to keep the symmetry of the article boxes, and still show the icons. NP
