Hi, I just bought the domain name PageRankster.com, and I will make a collection of good SEO tools (maybe make my own, like pagerank lookup, future pagerank, meta tag generator etc.), and some good articles about SEO. I have made a logo to the site, and just want to hear what you think about it. Here it is: Hope you like it ;-) Maybe you could also give me ideas to good SEO tools that can be made/added to the site (it's not up yet). Thanks!
I like the short logo because it's somewhat iconic and I also prefer the gradient version of the longer logo. I think you can use both (short and long) for branding your site.
Your logos look great - I just tagged this site the other day, maybe you could use these tools http://www.webfinderpro.co.uk/seo-tools-tips-resources.html#keywordtools
They are all good, I have a little preference for the reflected logo, however it all depends on the rest of your websites design and feel.
Thanks, @ject: I'm using Photoshop CS3. I'm duplicating my text layer, rasterizing it, flip it vertical and taking the rect. marquee tool with a feather of 14-20 and deleting the bottom of the text, then I add a lens blur (gauss. can also be used). Finally, you can set the opacity to 50% or something that fits your image.
Here's another take on the question, since for the short form logo, you used PR, presumably standing for [P]age[R]ankster, how about changing the orange to the [R]ankster instead? That will also break up your word and make it easier to read and remember, connecting the pronunciation of the word with the visual clue of the orange. Here's a quick mock up. Hope it helps!
The short logo looks the most attractive to me. Simple, elegant and professional. The longer ones seem a bit... Plain...
