Hi this is my first website. I'm an ex-law student turned... online bum. My website: http://www.lasvegasnevadadui.com 1. how's the seo 2. how's the design 3. does it look professional 4. is the information easy to find 5. does the adsense fit and is it enticing to click 6. what would you improve 7. is there a better design you'd suggest 8. are the pictures and video ok 9. overall appeal
The site is clean and simple Work on content and better to keep space right site for ad not in the first middle.
@justinlorder I've tried learning footers but can't seem to find it in my program i'm using. @johnscore i didn't understand you @sheenak i'm sure an MFA doesn't have 32 pages, 18 visible to you, nor does an MFA go into detail about laws and implication of laws and the latest news in the niche, personally typed.
He didn't say it reads like an MFA, he said it LOOKS like one. I have to agree. The design is kind of dated. I can really appreciate the domain, and I know legal ads pay better per click, but it really looks old...like it was built 3 years ago. You can do better.
I think you need to align the content into center of the site and also make the content into justify style..
it's supposed to align in the center, i don't know why the browsers are doing that. Please understand this is professional website, not a blog. I do not want this looking like a blog at all.
first and second topic is good in formatting, but i think the rest is out of css formatting right? Try to use style="float:left;" in <img ... tag so that image is blended with the text.
what about the horizontal rules are those ok on the pages? I'm not getting what people [not that they're being very clear] are saying the page seems dated. Please explain dated. while someone else said they appreciated the layout.
Oh i'm taking all of your critiques into consideration and reworking it. keep giving me advice http://www.lasvegasnevadadui.com as far as the centering goes, it's a glitch in firefox. in internet explorer it comes up perfectly. looks great. I too use firefox but ... i have no idea how to adjust it just for firefox when my program has a "center in browser" radio button. I think firefox upgraded and broke my program and hence my website. Yay i fixed it after writing this lol.
It's too simple. Maybe you need a catchy eyes theme to get more attention. I suggest you to find a nice theme at eblogtemplates.com
hmmm doesnt look too professional to me, the style itself seems to be like those 1996 webdesigns, outdated 10+ years ago.
not to sound like a perfectionist, but constantly saying simple isn't .... constructive? If you could be more specific, it would be helpful. But keep in mind: 1. it's not a blog 2. it's not designed to trick people into doing anything 3. it's not marketing 4. if people stay on the sight for an hour, that's a good thing. I am literally learning how to program this bastard each day. The program I am using has the worst documentation ever. I literally thought I couldn't format the text in any useful way until 2 months after setting up the website. *sigh* If you all could be specific, it would help me know exactly what you would change.
If you're wondering why we're saying your design is outdated, maybe you can browse through some of the better designed websites at http://cssremix.com/ to get an idea. Ps, it would be good too to code your layout tableless, <table> ain't recommended for constructing websites since years ago. Use <div> instead.
