I'm an IPL fan as well and your website has good content however it lacks some things to make it a little more professional. I'll tell you the places where you can improve it:
1. The information you have provided is ample. Try organizing it. For e.g., the pole (who will win) can be shifted in the right column giving it more users to choose.
2. Show post summaries on your homepage, your website loads very slowly because of the loads of images on each post and the java you've used. Try to use only a single image of each post on the main page.
3. Customize your google ad to be lightblue-and-white, the same color your posts are. There are better chances of people clicking at your ads when they resemble your posts.
4. I was surprised you didn't post the points table (wins and points of each team)..
5. All the team posters on the front page header are unclickable, make them hyperlinked to their respective pages.
6. Don't try to fool the public by putting up the facebook platform fb page instead of yours with 1.7 million fans, they know

how about background no tile... i think is cool for your background...

 

I didnot get better image for background..
So I tiled the small image I had with lil edition.
I improved blog a bit by checking reviews.
Added point table

yes change the background (indian team with world cup , how that sounds?) nd dont you have some watch online links or so because they are in great demand
you can do a lot of improvement in Adsense placement also ..throw a long leaderboard .my blog is education and i am getting watch IPL Image Adverts in long leaderboard and it has good click ratio
