Please Review My Hypnosis Site

Discussion in 'Websites' started by JonRhodesUK, May 13, 2009.

Hello - I have been running this hypnosis site at http://www.HypnoBusters.com for about a year now. We basically sell MP3 downloads of various different therapeutic audio sessions. Any ideas for improvement in any area would be gratefully received - be it design, marketing ideas, or anything! :)

    No takers yet! :(

I would be good to know from an outside perspective if the site is clear and easy to navigate. Are there any areas of confusion?

I think it's too flamboyant - adds, articles, offers and it's somehow confusing. You can create a menu for navigation and divide the information equally, so it will be easier for the user to find the information he is looking for.

Thanks sxcnelson and Martin K. I was wondering whether all the options detracted from the sites main purpose - to generate sales! Any others ideas peops?!

OK, so maybe I need to simplify it a little. I will work on that! Do you feel that you can trust this site? I think trust in this nature of work is paramount.

I think you should completely redesign it. Do you really need 4 of those "Verified" banners? Oops, you have 1 more in the header, so 5 of those?!?

I am a fellow hypnotist - and I like your site. However - 1 thought. I am selling my .mp3s for hypnosis as high as $49.95. I would suggest less of a shotgun approach. Maybe develop "salesletter" type sites for each individual mp3 - get some good testimonials for each one - and raise the price. Worst case scenario - take a handful of your least profitable ones and try it on them first. Then if what I'm suggesting works, duplicate that. I may be all wet too - if you're selling tons of them already then as the saying goes "if it isn't broke - don't fix it".

Yes! That was the point. If the user is confused he is not going to buy anything right? Make it little more simple.
Put your promo - "20% of all orders over $40" in more visible place Half of the users will buy only for this.
If you want users to trust in your site put a picture of yourself and your contacts GSM, e-mail and something. This is more trustable than every verifiers and other things.
I like the design by the way I think it's good.

Looks like there is too much info in one page... makes the whole thing confusing.
Fonts are very small - my yes got tired.
Maybe you can work with tabs and create categories to clear little bit the front page.
    It's a interesting subject.
    Good luck w/ your project.

First of all, that trust guard "certified" mouseover on the header is freakin' annoying - move that to the bottom of the page - if you need it - or move it to your privacy page or about page.

Your site is not condusive to selling anything .... this is what I would do ...

    =======================

    YOUR HEADER HERE

    Box1 Box2 Box 3

    Footer Section Here

    ===========================

In the header section: Make a better logo that extends the entire width of the page so there is no doubt that people are going to a hypnobuster page.

Below the header - have 3 identical looking boxes - like that Special Offer "the truth behind hypnosis $1" box ..
Box1 = "Buy Hypnosis Mp3 for as low as $9.95 each"
Box2 = "Buy Hyponsis Ebooks and Products for as low as $0.99 each"
Box3 = "Free Downloads, Samples and Articles here!"

In the footer section - have all that certified stuff, links for affiliates. Move all those links on the front page to the appropriate sub-pages defined by the above 3 boxes. Your google analytics and referral stats should help you decide what people are actually looking for when it comes to hypnosis etc - mp3s? reading material? freebies? etc. Even on the freebie section you can monetize it (adsense, affiliate links, sponsorship ads, etc) and don't be afraid to give away stuff for free.

It should be this easy ....

    1) find hypnosis site from google search
    2) click on box to buy some mp3s
    3) click on another box to help me stop smoking (or lose weight, etc)
    4) buy page that accepts paypal and other options
    5) send me to freebie pages for more information etc.

First impression is there are boxes floating on the background. To make them feel more related, I would have a
common background color. Above the Yahoo! Health Groups banner, there is unused space. Not good. Some space
is always needed, but that is too much. The Yahoo! banner could be positioned higher, and if the "Arrow - Hypnosis mp3 Hypnosis scripts" could be like 30px higher, the Yahoo! banner could be positioned 30px further up.

Then, the title should be carefully selected, with that or those most related keywords, that are also used on the page.
The domain name HypnoBusters, if used in the <title>, should then come last, not first.

Next, there is no <h1> header. This makes it impossible for a search engine to track the core of the page.
In the first sentence (You can improve every aspect...) the word *hypnosis" comes late. Should be earlier in the sentence.

Thanks a lot for all the great suggestions - I will send them to my business partner who does the designs! A common theme seems to be that the site is a little busy and confusing, so will try to remedy that in particular. If anyone has any more ideas, maybe from a promotional perspective, keep em coming!

We do have a decent (or at least I think so!) conversion rate of about 2.5%, but it can always be improved!

Please change the template and try to remake the page. Everything is very nice but still you need to work on your page.
