I made this bible site and i'm also giving it away. You can view the site here: http://www.firstteachers.info Visit http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=490079 for more info on the site and the download link.
Sorry to be negative but you did ask for a review... I can't see the point in this site. You must have spent a lot of time developing it but it is nothing compared to biblegateway.com. Their site is searchable and has many modern versions available as well as the King James.
when i view your site, everything is all out of whack. the background is centered and fixed while the content is aligned left and scrolls. this makes it impossible to read. this happens when i view both the 800 and the 1024 versions in FF 2.0.0.7
eruct, what is your moniter size? I did this in about 3 days CleverDick. What you said could be said about any site. That's like saying to a video site webmaster, 'what's the point when you have youtube?'
alignment is off in firefox? Kinda hard to read. I would shrink the header so the text starts earlier.
I'm not sure about the splash page, it didn't really make me want to click further. Try re-designing it to something more appealing (with your site's points crossed) or remove it.
What is your browser size? I am using firefox also. If your moniter is 800x600 and you go to the 800x600 page there shouldn't be a problem. The same goes for the 1024x768 page if you have a 1024x768 moniter. If you go to the 800x600 page with a 1024x768 moniter it will be off and vice versa. So is it off with the correct moniter size in relation to the page size??
I like the blue but the fixed layout makes the white text hard to read when scrolling. Instead of using it as a background maybe you could turn it into tables. The navigation also overlaps the background a little so it would be better if it were positioned more to the left. I really like the modern look by the way.. suits younger people better than sites like Biblegateway.
Nora I had the youth in mind when I made this. I'm still unsure about how this is off. I tested it in both 1024x768 and 800x600 in both ie and firefox. No problems. So i'm still unclear with what people are having problems wth. Is it simply viewing the 800x600 with a 1024x768 moniter size? OR does this thing just not work properly?
