Please review my forum?

Hi all, I just finished setting up my new forum and wondered if anyone could let me know what they think.

It is a U.K based general forum.

It is brand new so content is very low.

its powered by phpbb and has a free style on it.

I have added a couple of mods to improve the site also.

Anyway, let me know what your thinking.

I like the green header design, but even though it's a .co.uk domain should you really need to point out it's "UK based" i think the domain does this job for you, and you are risking losing potential activity by alienating people who may post.

I too like your green banner and clean layout. I advise you look at your page names and include the some of the keywords you want to be found for e.g. Music | Game | TV | Forum

That will help with being found (of course the main thing are backlinks but it was a small spot from me )

The free theme is nice and your choice is good.The logo is also attractive.

But I am confused here, why you are using redirection? I am really confused.

 

I am guessing you mean the url in the original post?

I used that as I want to get the forum looking right and running how I want it before I start posting the url everywhere. That's the only reason.

 

I thought you were generating leads.

 

Header is not good, I also don't like dark color you have used very dark and deep. Need to change theme also, I am not so impressed.

Nice and clean forum theme.

 

The layout is ok but you could change the color combination,I find them kind of tiring,maybe some bright colours would work,you could also ad some image advertisments,although most of the times are anoying,sometimes they could change the design of a website in a good way.

Here is a progress report

Updates:
Removed the UK based description.
Added a couple of google advert placements. (Agreed it does break things up, just never really wanted to go the advert route)
Changed the page title so no longer displays 'SITE NAME . index page'.


I will be keeping the color scheme though as I like it dark and looking through these comments so does the majority.

To Do:
Just an thinking a head and I might eventually replace the classifieds section from the board and link it in with classipress or something to give the site more depth
Also, I may eventually go to vbulletin so the design here will change anyway although I will try to keep it close.


Any more comments or suggestions before I start doing some posts and get the link out there?
