    Hello all

I would really like some honest reviews of my Carp fishing website?
It's a fairly new site and I have already made sales but it has dried up the last week. So looking for some opinions on whether you find it easy to look at and use? layout etc and most importantly what tweaks I could make to improve conversions and what might be putting potential customers of purchasing with me?

    http://tackleshop.carp-on.com

    Thanks in advance

    Rob

i really like this site. excellent choice in colours and the layout is brilliant. i like the nice touches of the item being taken in to the shopping trolley etc. the biggest thing with online marketing is the seo in my small opinion.
make sure you build plenty of relevant links with sites have good on page seo. get your site noticed. i have recently tried offline marketing with my sites. try an add in a fishing shop. get some stickers made. put them around local fishing shops, fishing spots and also sticker up you bait box etc. you could even sponsor a small local fishing competition.
the sales you made are great, look to see what keywords you rank for or just look at the recently sold items. maybe these are areas that you could do well in. but like anything its test and repeat. goodluck with it mate.

Very nice site and good use of prestashop. Only flaw i can see on the off is the item "Pro-Active Shelf Life Boilies - 500gm - 18mm" which as a result of the long desciption is over lapping the price on the homepage. Not a major but could put potential buyers off as any flaw in the site loses there confidence.

10 biscuits has gave you some good advice there, the only thing i would think to add is you must put fresh content on the site regular. Ideally daily when the site starts and for at least a few months. I understand that this might be hard if you have no new products to list.
Easiest way is usually create a blog page, then update it with offers and promotions. This will help not only generate fresh content but rank for more keywords, which in turn will bring more visitors in. Something like a angling news page for instance, letting customers know of new products hitting the market and how as soon as its availible your going to stock it. Chances are any new hyped up products will get alot of searches in google which therefore you can send that to your site.

Also an absoloute must is to implement a newsletter subscription for customers and visitors. Then when you start receiving a dead patch of sales you can fire off emails at the click of a button with a special offer eg: 10% off 5 - 10 fairly cheap products. If choose the right products to do this on it will be very successful. Chances are they will buy other items whilst on the site though.

And finally you need to set up some sort of related products feature, where when they add a item to cart it will show them related products. We did this for a clients website a few months back and although actualy quantity of sales didnt increase the revenue from virtually the same amount of sale had increased by 20%.

All together a great site and has alot of potential. If you need any help implementing these features we may be able to help you if you dont know how as we are a Leicester based web design company.

This is good. I like this site. The challenge will now be SEO. Here are some ideas:

-Create an "articles" section on the site. Write a few 5-10 well written articles relevant to your site. Do this over a period of a few months.
    - Create a "Privacy Policy" page. Google likes these. It will not get you to the first page, but they help (and take just a few minutes to put together).
    - Is you site indexed? I could not tell.
    - For SEO purposes, think about reporting relevant info for carp fisher on this site. For example, local hotspots where the fishing was great this week-end, water temperatures, permit info....I'm not really sure what would work. But if you could post information that was really useful for carp fishermen, you would get great quality links. This will help your SEO tremendously.

    Good luck!
