I'm newbie on that field, but i need money, plus want to start learning webdesign. Too bad i couldn't buy hosting with domain, so i'm hosting my site on Blogger. Could You, DigitalPoint community, review my blog and describe where i made mistakes, what i must change or remove completely?

I think you have too many ads & not enough content.

 

wow, full of ads, what will you bring to readers ? ads or something new to gain ?

 

change the background to white and it will be fine

 

I've changed background to some bright metallic texture, changed colour of post widget background to dark green (not sure it's good) and added #b45f06 colour to pages and footer widgets. I'm considering change of Footer and Pages widgets. Plus, preparing more content.

 

domain is wired forsure...its not a domin that I would visit...its not even a domain I would even remember.

Did you think you was just going to throw up page with affiliate ads and people are just going to flock to you?
If it was that easy, then the whole world would be doing this...it can take years to get steady traffic to
the right domain...over time, you may get a click here, and a click there, but honestly, I just do not
see anything that is going to come of this....

Honestly i'm working on new domain, but sure, you've right - such domain won't make my weblog well known.
But for now, not mentioning domain, what's also missed?

 

Nice, I like it you might want to get a .com, .net, .co domain to look better

 

Problem is i don't have money yet to buy good domain, so i must use free .tk or .co.cc . I hope that people will start using my promo codes for DreamHost, that gives me some money to start with more serious plan.

If you don't put some valuable content on your site I don't see a bright future for your site. Even if you get a top level domain I don't feel people will be excited by the aggressive way you advertise here. If you visit such a site would it be pleasant to you ?

Hello b4rc0d3. First of all I congratulate you for just 'getting started' and doing something.

Don't feel so bad. When I got started on my site I did not have much money either. But what I did was go to 1&1 and got a deal for a [us] domain for $0.99 for the first year. I think they have a deal now for a $0.99 [info] domain. But check them out. It really helped me when I didn't have much. Also, I went to ebay and got a deal for 5years of unlimited hosting for $4.99. That's a total of just $5 bucks for a domain name and hosting. Then I installed Wordpress and designed my site.
Not much invested. Hope this helps.

P.S. When going to your site, I could not tell what it was about. It almost looked like a mini search engine with links to various shopping sites. What is it you are trying to sell or promote?

 

Oh. I didn't read your latest posts of your changed domain. I like this later domain and site much better. Okay, It seems you have put together some sort of Amazon store?

b4rc0d3. I think you are doing great. This is all a learning process. Keep learning. You'll get better and better and understand more and more. None of us start out with perfect websites. I don't really think there is such a thing. I've changed my site several times already. Now, I am still building on it.

I've been told too that I had "too many ads" and "not enough content". So some of the comments you have here, I've gotten them too. Some comments I heeded, but others I ignored. But one thing I realize is that I can't listen to everyone. No matter how great your site is, someone will always be able to find something wrong with it.

So, my advice for you. Go with what you know and improve it along the way. And Don't be discouraged! Have Fun!

why u cannot buy a domain name with hosting? Why not you try another company for the hosting and domain name? Try exabytes to assist you.
You blog pages do not define the clear purpose of your website.
It is the purpose of share video and so on with others or just because of the advertising promotion?
With a white background cant build customer trust on your webpages to try it.
